I've been absolutely obsessed with platforms as of late. My rule for summer has been no less than 5 inches. After all, a great pump can make your leg look long and lean.

Aside from the appearance factor, I've always loved platforms because they're the most comfortable and sturdy heels to wear. I came across the Report Signature "Bergen" heels in Macy's the other day and thought to myself, "Color-block platforms?!"

Had I $225.00 to spare, those babies would have been mine! ALL MINE! I just want to get all Rose Royce on these ohz. Is that too much to ask?

Skin

So Netflix finally decided to send me a film that didn't star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I swear ever since I LOVED (500) Days of Summer  and  Mysterious Skin they have sent me his whole body of work. Not that I'm complaining, but I'm sorry Netflix Manic  was hardly a rom-com classic.

Anyway, I heard of the story long before I saw the trailer for the film Skin  a while ago and decided to add it to my queue. The film is based on the true story of Sandra Laing, a black girl, born to white parents during the Apartheid in South Africa. The film goes into further detail on how genetics played a huge role in the phenomenon. The film follows Laing as she searches for an identity and sense of belonging in a society plagued with racial tension. Sophie Okonedo's performance is amazing in this role. This is definitely a film you need to see.

Sidenote: I wouldn't have minded if they gave Joseph Gordon-Levitt a small role in this film.

White Denim

I peruse the internet from time to time when I'm not using Netflix and come across a slew of crazy, sexy, cool new music. This band, White Denim is no different. This song reminds me of "Playground Love" by Air from The Virgin Suicides soundtrack. Simple melody but very enchanting.

Sidenote: I love the fact that the Senior Prom footage featured in the video is from the same year I was born. Go figure. Enjoy!

I'm back! Finals are over! Sorry for the hiatus! I'm ready to dive into summer! (Figuratively not Literally because we all know I can't swim.)

Maybe I'll learn how to swim this summer. I've unsuccessfully attempted to learn every year since I was 12 and you know what: This will be the year I learn how to swim! I will find someone who I can trust with the patience of Zeus...hopefully.
